Surf & Stroke Clinics

SURF & STROKE CLINICS

BY BEN LAWRY

SURF CLINIC -AUGUST 28TH 2010
This is an introduction of the skills necessary to be in control when the waves move our boats around. We will study waves – the development of waves, modification of wave, and, most importantly, breaking of waves.  Launching and landing through small surf, support strokes and maneuvering strokes will be covered. . Wave selection, positioning and speed are critical skills to fun and safety in the surf zone. This is an active course with time on the beach reviewing theory while allowing our bodies time to rejuvenate.

FORWARD STROKE CLINIC - AUGUST 29TH 2010
Over 99 % of your time is spent paddling forward, yet little time is spent learning it.  Efficiency and correct body use are the keys to allow you to paddle for hours at a time with ease and grace. We start with dry land exercises to work on form and theory. Then we move into our kayaks and practice the strokes on the water.

COST: $160 or $300 both days
