Guided Kayak Tours

Coastal Maine Kayaks offers guided tours to nearby Cape Porpoise, the Kennebunk River, Mousam River, and Casco Bay.  We welcome beginner, intermediate and advanced paddlers for our daily and sunset tours. 

Tours are led by a licensed Maine Guide are approximately 3 hours in length. .  We provide kayak, PFD, and paddle.  Each trip begins with instruction for the beginners with an introduction to safety techniques.  Attendee is responsible for a hat, sunscreen, personal gear, snacks and drinking water (see What to Bring).  Remember that summertime in Maine can turn chilly, with water temperatures only in the 60’s, so dress appropriately.
We encourage the use of personal boats and gear provided it meets our safety standards.  For day trips, you must provide your own bag lunch unless otherwise specified.
Guided tours are offered daily at 9 am, 2 pm and 5 PM (sunset tour) times depend on weather and participation please call for times. Locations vary daily depending on weather conditions. Call us at 207-967-6065 for the tour location and start time for that day.  Plan to arrive at the store 30 minutes before the start time.
  Cape Porpoise Tour - Visit this beautiful Harbor was named by Captain John Smith in 1614. See Goat Island and the historic lighthouse. Goat Island Light remains an active aid to navigation and welcomes visitors to the island.

  Kennebunk River Tour - Enjoy paddling through a historic coastal Maine village. View historic buildings and the cemeteries’ of its founders. The Kennebunk River is one of the few remaining working tidal rivers along the Maine coast. 
  Mousam River Estuary Tour - The Mousam River is an open salt marsh with long views to the Atlantic before entering rich woodlands. The river follows a Bridle Path that begins in downtown Kennebunk and follows an old railroad bed bordering the meandering Mousam River, a tidal estuary.
  Cape Porpoise Sunset Tour- This is a relaxed evening paddle.  Enjoy the sunset and see Goat Island Lighthouse. See Cape Porpoise, a small coastal village in the town of Kennebunkport .   Cape Porpoise Harbor includes more than a dozen islands that protect the deep natural harbor. 
  Pine Point Eco-Tour - Enjoy a paddle on one of the largest salt water marshes in Maine. See the diverse waterfowl and sea birds.  This is a relaxed day paddle with lunch at the Maine Audubon Society’s outdoor education center located in the Scarborough Marsh. 
  Cape Porpoise Eco Tour- Join us to paddle one of Maine’s unique harbors.  See Goat Island Lighthouse and Cape Porpoise Village. Enjoy the waterfowl and marine life.  This is a relaxed tour to learn the ecology of Maine’s indigenous seashore.
  Casco Bay Overnight- Leave from Falmouth with all your gear stowed on board, including food, water, tent, sleeping bags, etc.  Set up camp on a reserved island campsite.  After paddling along Casco Bay, enjoy a hot meal on the beach and campfire conversation before heading off to bed.  This tour is limited to 10 participants, so call early.  This trip is suitable for intermediate and advanced paddlers.  Overnight Trip Essentials
